Following a quarrel between two workers on Davenport’s station, Thomas Donelly approached one of the man with a loaded gun. An Aboriginal station worker, known as ‘Billy’, warned the man of Donnelly’s approach and was shot and killed. Donelly fled into the Port Phillip district but was pursued by Corporal McCullock who apprehended him. Donelly was later tried, found guilty and hanged.

Native Constable Charley, a man from the Broughton district, was killed by Manooka Bidea (alias Billy), either in revenge for the role he played in apprehending those involved in Whitney and Scott’s deaths, or for killing the sister of Manooka Bidea.

Police endeavour to arrest Aboriginal people for spearing one of Davenport’s cows. They track them to an island in an immense swamp but are unable to secure the arrest because of the state of the country. In late December they arrest ‘Billy’ and ‘Tuck-in-all’ for the offence.

Warria (alias Munberry Billy) was arrested for William Hart’s murder. While travelling to Adelaide in custody of Police Constables Whish and Batham, Warria was mounted on a horse due to his fatigued state. According to their depositions, the horse was startled, Warria fell, and the horse trampled and kicked him, causing immediate death. Governor Robe instructed that ‘very careful enquiry’ be made into the case, which potentially implicated the two constables. Dr Webb conducted a post-mortem examination.

John Williams was physically threatened by three Aboriginal men in consequence of Williams shooting Berea’s dogs. Williams fired shot at Berea’s chest and back. Berea was tried for feloniously assaulting Williams, and received a sentence of three months hard labour.

Shepherd Robert Richardson killed by Aboriginal people at Younguna, about 9 kilometres South East of Hayward’s Aroona station.

On 2 September 1852, 75 sheep were found to be missing from the flocks of James Logan on his Gumbowie Station. They were tracked 20 miles and found in possession of Wummoorda, alias Billy. Logan and labourer Joseph West took him into custody.

On 8 June, Corporal Burtt and PT Simpson, with the assistance of station workers, track the alleged attackers of Jacob’s men to Arkaroola Creek. Two Aboriginal men were shot and killed while resisting arrest.

Between 11 August and 27 September 1859, Inspector Holroyd lead a police expedition in the country between Streaky Bay and Fowlers Bay searching for Shepherd’s killer. Miller and Ives, presumed dead, were found alive and well at Yalata. On 6 September he came across a party of sixty Aboriginal people and arrested three because they had European clothing in their possession.

Meendinya and Meenbinya arrested by Police Trooper Morris on suspicion of having murdered a hutkeeper named Sheppard at Fowler’ Bay in 1859. While transporting the prisoners to Cooeyanna Police station Meendinya, while resisting the Trooper, was shot and killed.

In attempting to arrest Paralana Jacky and Paralana Tommy for the murder of John Walter Jerrold, the latter is shot and later dies.

Killing of James Wade on the Beltana run on 5 August 1868, allegedly by Aboriginal man named Warrakimbo Reuben. Reportedly Wade was killed trying to take Reuben into custody on suspicion that he was wanted for an earlier killing of Aboriginal man Peter Franklin.
