About
This website is a collaborative effort to map and provide information about Australian Wars and Resistance and is one step in a long journey. The aim is to build on prior work to establish a basis for ongoing collaborative research in years to come. The website will be updated and expanded based on this research.
The methodology for mapping Australian wars and resistance was produced by Dr Bill Pascoe as part of the Historical Frontier Violence project (ARC DP220101336).
This website is a response the call for greater recognition, understanding and acknowledgement of Australian Wars or Frontier Wars. This call has a long history, going back around a hundred years. If we are to acknowledge wars and resistance it helps to answer the questions: what wars? when? where? From there we can understand in greater depth, answering who? why? and how?
