Kudnutya (Fryingpan) charged with stealing sheep, 8 May 1849

Place: Beautiful Valley, near Mt Remarkable
Kudnutya was found guilty of stealing eighty sheep belonging to Messrs Burnett and Fotheringham, and under the charge of Robert Lee (‘Bob’), in the vicinity of Beautiful Valley. At the Police Commissioner’s Court on 28 June, Kudnutya, through Protector Moorhouse, said he partook of mutton but did not take the sheep. He was sentenced to two months with hard labour.
