A group of seven Europeans led by Government Resident Charles Driver, accompanied by six Aboriginal men, travelled to Biddle’s station in search of Biddle, Fastings and Mrs Tubbs’ murderers. They encountered a large group surrounded by goods taken from Biddle’s station. The group fled but several men were pursued. A man named Stewart fired at one man who did not have a weapon in his hand. An additional two men were wounded.
