19 Sep 1852 — 6 miles from the Mt Arden RangeOn Sunday, 19 September, 16-year-old James Brown went out with a large flock of sheep. He was unarmed. When James did not return with the sheep that evening, a search commenced. His brother, John Brown, and a shepherd, John McCrorey, found his naked and mutilated body on the morning of 20 September.
