After learning that thirty sheep had been taken and shepherd, John Keyan, had been assaulted, Samuel and Edwin White, and their overseer, William Moore Carter, went in pursuit of those they presumed were responsible. Carter rode at full gallop at a group of Aboriginal people with a stockwhip in his hand and pistol in his belt. No deaths were reported. Carter was subsequently dismissed.
