    “Thomas Conock and Michael Goodwin, two of the Mounted Police, were indicted for the manslaughter of the aborigine named Harlequin, the imputation being, that in consequence of their ill-treatment to this native whilst conducting him as a prisoner charged with murder, he had met his death.”
