26 Apr 1839 — North of Adelaide near the Milner Estate and Para RiversJames Thompson, Hallett’s shepherd, was killed in the vicinity of the Milner Estate and the Para (Gawler) River, inland from Port Gawler. Picha-Cud-Nacha (Tam O’Shanter), Wang Nucha (Tommy Round Head) and Tippa Warricha (Bob) were charged with wilful assault and murder. Wang Nucha was found guilty and hanged.
