Mortlock’s hutkeeper, Isaac Bridges, wounded by Aboriginal people and pursued, 16 June 1848

Place: Mortlock’s Station
On the same day that Charles Goldsmith’s hut was surrounded and Goldsmith was wounded by spears (16 June 1848), Mortlock’s hutkeeper, Isaac Bridges, was similarly assaulted. Bridges was wounded under the right arm. He fired, left the station and was pursued for some distance.
