In May 1847 ‘Nganti’ (aka Nantes) was brought into the township of Port Lincoln settlement by the Police. He was charged with violently threatening a woman named Dowling who was employed as a hutkeeper by Messrs Price and Hawker. Nganti sought to obtain flour from Dowling.
