Robbery at McEllister’s station, 20 March 1842

Place: McEllister’s Station, Port Lincoln
On 21 March 1842, a group of 80 Aboriginal people armed with spears allegedly came to McEllister’s station (located 4 miles from the Port Lincoln settlement) and surrounded the hut. The hutkeeper and two stone masons ran to Mr Hawson’s station for protection. The hut was robbed of clothes, rations and bedding.
