Spearing of Frank Hawson, 5 October 1840

Place: Near Port Lincoln
Twelve year old Frank Hawson was left alone at one of his family’s outstations. He was visited by a group of Aboriginal people who speared him in the chest with two barbed swords. He gave an account of events to Justice of the Peace, JB Harvey, before he died several days later.
